Job Specification
- Plans machining by studying works orders.
- Sets up and run’s grinders by installing and adjusting fixed and rolling centres, tools, attachments, steadies and grinding wheels.
- Verifies setting by measuring positions, first run part and sample work pieces, adhering to our client’s standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing grinding operation, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, trouble shooting processes, adjusting programs where necessary, replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on a daily basis, following manufacturer’s instructions, trouble shooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs through the intranet system.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Skills and Qualifications
- Conceptual skills, process improvements, verbal communication, functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation, supply management, tooling, coordination, inventory control, attention to detail, judgement, team player.
- Control system requirements: Fanuc, Siemens 840D.
- Grinding wheel fitment certification.
- Turning experience would be of benefit.
- You may be required to work additional hours.
Qualification requirements
- Level 2 (NVQ) Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations
- Level 2/3 (NVQ) Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
- Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and Technology or equivalent
