Role & Responsibilities of the Product Process Engineer:

The purpose of this role is to introduce new products and processes as well as identifying improvement opportunities on existing manufacturing processes.

Work with our design, engineering and production teams to ensure effective New Product Introduction (NPI), managing

 the process from design concept through to full volume production, including on time delivery and target product costs.

Initiate and lead continuous improvement activities to ensure systems, products and processes remain current, secure,

supported and continue to meet business requirements; monitor and support improvements where necessary to adapt to future needs.

Understanding design and performance requirements of a new product in conjunction with production requirements;

ensuring the expertise, ideas and feedback from other are incorporated into the project.

Developing and supporting with new product and equipment introductions, using structured project management

gateways. Effectively collaborate with other Engineering professionals both onsite and overseas during all stages of the process.

Ensuring product and processes meet specifications required, taking ownership of the KPI’s for area of responsibility (SQDCP)

Develop and maintain all the relevant support documentation including standard work, work instructions and quality

plans. Ensure compliance with all Engineering Change Order (ECO) procedures

Providing guidance and training to team members in order to share knowledge and expertise and support with the

development of skills of others.

Promoting Engineering innovation, pushing boundaries of existing industry best practice to come up with process

improvements and new ways of thinking, working and manufacturing.

Monitoring quality issues and trends; finding the root cause and establishing effective and sustainable solutions.

Fostering good interdepartmental working relationships, modelling and encouraging the exchange of information

and sharing of expertise between areas, particularly in relation to Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA).

A mechanical, electronics/electrical, production or manufacturing engineering background is essential

Experience of working within a similar role with proven experience of managing the NPI process from concept through to production

Proven knowledge of manufacturing best practice including Engineering Change Management, DFMEA, PFMEA, lean, six sigma, 5S and FMEA (qualifications desirable)
